Maddie’s Musts March’24
Since becoming a mom I feel like I have zero time to shop for clothes, so I’m getting back on the Fashion Pass train! (code MADDIE108C gets you $30 off your first order) I feel like since having Charley I’ve been living in whatever is comfy + breastfeeding friendly so I really don’t know how to dress anymore. 🫣
Routines, Products, and Supplements for MaddHealthy Hair
First off, the quality of your products makes a huge difference. I don’t believe in skimping on price here. I also only wash my hair once a week, so my products last a long time w/ this schedule and end up being way more affordable than washing multiple times a week w/ cheap products.
Natural Acne Relief
MOSTTT of the time, acne is an internal issue. Of course the quality of your skincare and makeup products is super important (non toxic and non pore clogging), but reducing inflammation , supporting the liver/detox pathways + addressing gut bacteria should be on the top of the list for acne treatment.
Starbucks Matcha vs Homemade Matcha
If you know me, you know that matcha is my go-to morning beverage, however there are some matcha drinks (Starbucks, for example) that are labeled quote "healthy" for you.
A medium Starbucks matcha contains up to 32 grams of sugar (a 16 oz coke contains 39 grams of sugar....) and only half of it is ACTUALLY matcha... it's literally powder and sugar. It also contains more caffeine. Too much caffeine can cause anxiety, resulting in a spike in cortisol/blood-sugar, along with imbalanced hormones.
Maddie’s Musts February’24
Not a new obsession, but PB IQBars are saving me on the go right now. Since getting back into the work groove this month I’ve been finding myself needing more travel-friendly snacks/meals and IQBars will always be one of my faves! (use code MADDIE for 15% off your order!)
How to get 30+ grams of protein at breakfast
The recommended daily protein intake can vary depending on things like age, your level of activity, and overall health, but as a general rule of thumb, I typically encourage my clients to aim for ~25-35 grams of protein at each meal.
Protein does sooo much for our bodies (especially as we age!) It helps support our metabolism, bones, muscles, and overall mobility. It keeps hormones balanced, the immune system functioning properly, and hair, skin, and nails healthy.
